Robert joined GMA in 2004 originally as an office assistant whilst completing his first round of university studies. As new energy efficiency legislation was introduced, Robert took on the role of Energy Efficiency Assessor. The role included undertaking assessment on predominately single detached dwellings, eventually expanding into more complex projects, including commercial projects. During a time of expansion of GMA, Robert also acted as IT support liaison for both staff and external consultants. In 2011, Robert left GMA and enlisted into the Australian Army. He was assigned to the Royal Australian Corps of Signals and gained experience in IT networking, Radio and Satellite communications and data-based management systems, serving in both detachment level and leadership positions within combat brigades in Brisbane and Darwin.
Robert re-joined GMA in 2016 in the position of Business Development and IT Manager, where he maintains the IT infrastructure of the company and develops in house policy and procedures to aid GMA and its staff in its day to day functions. In 2018 Robert commenced further studies in Building Surveying as well as undertaking Cadet role functions.
