2019-2020 Financial Year

GMA would like to take the opportunity to welcome you to the 2019-2020 financial year.

As you know, with every financial year, there are typically a few changes in the industry, including fee changes and updates to Building Law and processes.

This year there are a number of changes we would like to bring to your attention.

New Plumbing Laws

The new plumbing laws form part of the Queensland Building Plan and deliver reforms to make the construction industry safer, fairer and more sustainable.

An in depth look into what has changed can be located in the attached PDF and the Department of House and Public Works Website.

Our website has been updated with the current application forms and links.

Local Government Fees & Charges

You will see an increase to the Local Government Council fees in your next Quotes and Invoices. We have seen varying increases across all councils from 1-5%. If at anytime you would like confirmation of the new fees please do not hesitate to contact your local GMA branch.

You can visit our links page to access links to each councils website to obtain direct copies of their 2019-2020 Fees and Charges schedules.

Search Fees

In order to complete an accurate Planning Assessment of Development Applications for Building Works GMA do require a copy of a Current Title Search and Registered Survey Plan. These documents identify any applicable Easements and Statutory Covenants on a parcel of land.

GMA can search and supply these documents on your behalf and we do this through the Global Xterrain search facility. The search fees for this facility will marginally increase due to the cost for GlobalXTerrain to supply this information has increased for the new financial year.

If at anytime you would like confirmation of the new fee please do not hesitate to contact your local GMA branch.
